Launch Tree: One more for the Gurus

Launch Tree Quick Review: Just don’t buy it!

A lot of you who are on some IM lists probably received emails regarding the launch of a new IM product: Launch Tree.

What I love about this is this is a program that is supposed to show you how to make the big bucks when launching a product. But once again the people behind the launch and everybody promoting it are the ones making the money.

And by the way, they are using the same techniques described in the product to actually launch it. So you could say it is a method that works. It is indeed when you already have a big list and strong JV connections Like Mike filsaime has.

Please don’t believe the hype and stop spending your money on every new products out there.

In order to succeed online you need consistency, and focus. By jumping from one launch to another you dont do yourself any favor. Instead find one thing you’re good at (article marketing, blogging, ppc marketing…) and stick with it.

Following this launch I have unsubscribed from most of the lists I was on. For me people promoting the Launch Tree right after they have promoted countless of other products are just nuisance. They are putting money in their pockets and they just don’t care about people who struggle to make a living online.

If you want to invest in a program that will help you focus and that I am an active member of, I can only recommend the Xtreme Profit Membership from Matt Levenhagen. There you will learn everything you need to truly succeed online.

And Matt did not send any info about the Launch Tree or any other hyped up IM product to his list  and that says a lot. Matt is someone who truly believes in helping people online. It is also a smart business decision, because by doing this he is not out there for the quick bucks but instead, he is building a strong and faithful community and that, in my opinion, is priceless.

According to a recent Study from Google, based on companies running adwords on both search and content networks, the cost-per-acquisition (CPA) is about 2% lower on the Content Network than on search pages, with the Content Network driving close to 20% of their total conversions.

Conversion Rate is generally much smaller than on the Search Network but with the CPC lower as well it does explain those figures.

I always advise my customers to run both Search and Content campaigns but separately for tracking purposes mainly. Once you can track the content network you can also run campaigns using the Placement network which is even more targeted.

Free Keyword Research Tool

Spy on your Competitor’s Keywords!

John Rogers, one of the pillar of Campaign Blasts Forum has released with his team a neat little tool that allows you to spy on your competitor’s keywords.

metaspy

What the software does is extracting the Meta keywords of the first 100 listings returned by google search on a specific keyword.

It’s quite useful to quickly get a list of relevant keywords in your niche and most important it is free.

What’s the catch? Well each time you use the tool you will have a plain text ad for some products released by Incansoft, John Rogers Company. No big deal though.

So what are you waiting for? Get it while you can Here.

How to Share your Files the Easy Way

If like me, you are working with different computers all the time, then I strongly recommend you to check Box.net.

This website is a tool that allow you to upload your files and folders to their servers in an easy and very user-friendly way so that you can access them from anywhere. You can share permissions with as many people as you want as well.

So In short, just have a look at their website, it says it all. Best of all it’s free. You could always upgrade for more space and tools but frankly speaking the free version is enough for me.

Who is Susan Boyle?

Susan Boyle is becoming the biggest Internet Sensation ever. Period.

Susan Boyle Audition

Susan Boyle Audition

Following her audition on the UK show “Britain’s got Talent”, the video went viral on most video sharing sites. Visible Measures, which tracks online video usage, estimates that so far Boyle’s performance has already been seen more than 47 million times. So far the most popular video of all-time is the “Evolution of dance” with 117 Millions Views achieved in couple of years. Susan Boyle has been on the web for little more than a week!!!

It just proves the power of viral marketing and that the internet more than any other media can make or break anybody.

Just in case you haven’t seen the video yet, you can find it here.

How to Article Directory

I recenty found out about HowHub, an article directory  specialised in “How To” articles. The particularity of this directory compare to others is that the website gives you 50% of all Adsense revenue generated by your articles.

So not only do you get some backlinks juice for each article but you might even get some nice income on the side.

I have just submitted one article and will probably submit more in the weeks to come.  I will then be able to give more feedback about HowHub in the future.

Check HowHub Here.

Get a Favicon for Your Blog

What is a Favicon?

favicon Do you see the Letter E inside your browser in front of the URL of my blog? Well, this is a Favicon.

A favicon is a little 16×16 image displayed inside the browser location’s bar as well as the bookmark menu. It allows your reader to identify your site easily in the middle of all of their bookmarks. It is kind of like a branding for your blog.

How to Create a Favicon?

There are a couple of websites out there that can create a favicon for you instantly and for FREE. I personally use this one here.

You just need to chose a picture or image that you have and upload it on the website and they will create fhe favicon. You then just need to download it to your computer.

How To use a Favicon?

Once you have your nice little favicon, you will need to upload it to your server (usually the public_html folder). To check if you did it right, type http://yourdomainname.com/favicon.ico and it should appear in your browser.

Afterwards you have to insert the following code in the HEAD section of your page or in your header.php page if you’re using a Wordpress theme between the <head> tag:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://yourdomainname.com/favicon.ico">

Save your changes and it should be all set. Refresh your website page couple of times and it should appear after  a while.

Wordpress app for iPhone

I just found out about this new free iPhone application that allows you to connect to your WP blogs from your iPhone. You can check your last posts and more importantly make new ones so basically it allows you to blog on the go.

Quite often you can be in some places and have an idea you would like to blog about but you don’t have your computer with you. Well now you can.

This app only allows basic text posting at the moment but more features will be added in the future. More importantly it is totally free and does work with an iPod Touch ad well.

So go on iTunes and look for the wordpress app and grab it now.

By the way this post was just written using the application.

This is a very Neat Video from Hal Varian, Google’s Chief Economist that explain exactly how does Google calculate your ad rank position and your Cost Per Click.

Finally this gives us a clear and easy formula and reminds us how important relevance and Quality Score really is.

Thanks to Matt Levenhagen to make this video known to me.
